Norwegian Sea

The Norwegian Sea is a sea located on the border of the North Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Ocean. As its name might suggest, this region is located north west of Norway. Its southern border runs between Iceland and the Faroe Islands. It has an area of around 1.383 million km2. The sea has rich deposits of oil and natural gas. The coastal zones are rich in fish originating from the North Atlantic and the Barents Sea. Due to the warm North Atlantic current, the temperatures of the sea are fairly stable, and the sea is ice-free throughout the year as result.
